When my college years were all said and done, I had a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi College, a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from USM, and 3 years of college music study and experience mixed in.  Because of the Lord's blessings and kindness, He has filled my life with the joy of making music for over 40 years.  I have especially enjoyed sharing the delight of making music with other musicians over the years in a variety of settings too numerous to list, including small ensembles, orchestras, Old Time/Celtic jam sessions, restaurant folk band, weddings, worship, and more!

I fondly remember riding my bike to piano lessons when I was 6 years old.  My teacher's name was Susan Darsey, and she made me love the piano!  She made our recitals very elaborate and special.  When I was 10 years old, I was given the opportunity to perform a piano solo (first movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata) during the intermission of a small ballet recital, and to accompany a high school singer on two songs from Broadway.  That was a special treat for me as a 10 year old little girl!

When I was 15 years old, one of my brothers formed a pop band called Cool Connection, made up of several of our high school friends.  He arranged all of our music, and we performed live on a local television show in Baton Rouge, LA, near our hometown.  What fun!  In college, I played keyboard in a jazz band / show group, and we toured a few places in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, including a performance at the World's Fair in New Orleans.  Best of all, I have had the special privilege of making music for the worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, beginning in high school as an organist at my church, and continuing through today, mostly as a pianist.  I have been very blessed to be able to pass on my love of making music to my four children.  There is always someone singing or playing an instrument in our home, in all forms of vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles!

Those are just a taste of the music memories that have added so much sweetness to my life.  If you have a child, I encourage you to call today to start them on the joy-filled journey of making music.  Or if you have never learned to play an instrument yourself, give it a try!  Your life will be so blessed!

Below is a "long-story-short" list of some of my experience.
